    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 15 July 2026

    Action taken:

In response to concerns raised by residents, officers have carried out proactive patrols and speed checks at locations where road safety issues have been reported. They have engaged with drivers to promote safe and responsible road use and gathered information about speeding and dangerous driving to support further enforcement activity. Where appropriate, action has been taken against drivers using vehicles in an antisocial manner, including the issuing of Section 59 warnings. A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to others. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle may be seized by police. Officers continue to focus their activity on known hotspot locations to improve road safety, deter unsafe driving and provide reassurance to the local community.

    Issued 15 July 2026

    Action taken:

High-visibility patrols have been conducted in areas affected by nuisance motorcycle activity across Eastry Ward. Reports from residents have been reviewed, with intelligence gathered and shared to support enforcement and disruption opportunities. Targeted patrols have been carried out at identified hotspot locations to deter antisocial riding and improve community safety. Where appropriate, warning letters and other preventative measures can be issued to address offending behaviour, with ongoing activity aimed at reducing the impact of nuisance motorcycles and providing reassurance to local residents.

Ongoing activity will focus on improving public safety, increasing awareness of legislation, and providing reassurance to the local community.
