Road safety issues.
Issued 15 July 2026
Following feedback from residents, road safety remains a priority for local officers. Regular patrols and targeted enforcement activity are carried out to address concerns such as speeding, dangerous driving and other behaviour that puts road users at risk. Officers work with local councils, community groups and partner agencies to identify problem locations and focus activity where it is needed most. Vehicle checks are also carried out to ensure drivers are fit to drive, vehicles are safe and legal requirements are being met. Where appropriate, officers conduct roadside alcohol and drug tests and take action against drivers who break the law. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting concerns so that officers can target patrols and enforcement activity in the areas where they will have the greatest impact on road safety.

Drink/drug driving.
Issued 15 July 2026
Following concerns raised by residents, drink and drug driving remains a focus for local officers. Regular patrols and roadside checks are carried out across the area to identify drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and to improve safety for all road users. This includes vehicle stops, breath tests and roadside drug tests where appropriate. Alongside enforcement activity, officers engage with local residents and respond to reports of unsafe driving behaviour. Driving under the influence of drink or drugs can have serious consequences, and officers will continue to take action against those who put themselves and others at risk. Residents are encouraged to report concerns, as information from the public helps officers target patrols and enforcement activity where it is needed most.

Drug taking.
Issued 15 July 2026
Following concerns raised by residents, officers continue to tackle drug use and other drug-related activity through regular patrols and targeted enforcement. Officers maintain a visible presence across the area, gathering information from the community and focusing activity on locations where concerns have been reported. This includes proactive patrols and, where there are lawful grounds, stop and searches to identify those involved in drug-related offending. Officers also work with partner organisations to address issues linked to drug use, including antisocial behaviour and crime. Information provided by local residents remains vital in helping officers target their activity, disrupt offending and reduce the harm that illegal drugs can cause within the community.
