Dog fouling.
Issued 14 April 2026
Dover District Council is the main organisation responsible for enforcing dog fouling. During our patrols, if officers see someone not cleaning up after their dog, they will speak to them and take their details. However, any formal action, such as issuing fines, is carried out by Dover District Council.

Road safety issues.
Issued 14 April 2026
We have continued both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols to address road safety concerns in Maxton and Elms Vale. This work has included seizing illegal e-scooters, tackling an increase in stolen motorbikes being used illegally, and arresting those responsible. We have also secured charges against a high-risk individual for a number of offences, including driving over the legal drug limit, driving while unfit through drugs, possession of Class A drugs (the most harmful type of illegal drugs), driving without insurance and driving without a valid MOT.
Where possible, officers are present on high-visibility patrol during school times to reassure the community and help prevent crime. Staff from Kent Police’s Speedwatch Team have also been carrying out speed checks in Elms Vale to help encourage safer driving and reduce speeding.

Antisocial behaviour - personal.
Issued 14 April 2026
Efforts to reduce antisocial behaviour in the area are ongoing. We continue to work closely with colleagues across the police, Child Centred Policing Teams, local schools and the local authority to address issues involving young people. Where individuals involved in antisocial behaviour have been identified, a range of actions have been taken, including home visits, behaviour agreements and, in some cases, arrests.
There has also been a recent increase in the theft of motorbikes and the nuisance riding linked to this. We are working to identify those responsible and take action through the courts.
