Road safety issues.

Following concerns raised by residents, road safety remains a priority for local officers. Regular patrols and targeted enforcement activity are carried out to address issues such as speeding, dangerous driving and the antisocial use of vehicles. Officers work closely with local councils, community groups, volunteers and partner organisations to identify problem locations and focus activity where it is needed most. Vehicle checks are regularly carried out to ensure drivers are fit to drive, vehicles are safe and legal requirements are being met. Where appropriate, officers also conduct roadside alcohol and drug tests and take action against those who put other road users at risk. Officers continue to engage with local residents and encourage the community to report concerns so that patrols and enforcement activity can be directed to the areas where they will have the greatest impact on road safety.

Vehicle crime.

Following concerns raised by residents, vehicle crime remains a priority for local officers. Patrols and targeted enforcement activity are carried out to prevent thefts from and of vehicles, identify offenders and provide reassurance to the community. Recent investigations have led to a local man being charged with vehicle interference offences following reports of vehicles being tampered with in the area. Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols, engage with residents and encourage motorists to take simple steps to protect their vehicles, such as locking doors, closing windows and removing valuables from sight. Information provided by the community plays an important role in helping officers identify offenders, target activity and reduce opportunities for vehicle crime.

E-scooters / E-bikes.

Following concerns raised by residents, officers continue to tackle the illegal and antisocial use of e-scooters and e-bikes across the area. Regular patrols are carried out in locations where concerns have been reported, helping officers identify offenders, provide reassurance to the community and improve road safety. Enforcement action is taken where offences are identified, including the seizure of e-scooters being used illegally. Officers also engage with riders to raise awareness of the law and encourage safe and responsible use. Information provided by residents helps officers focus their activity on the areas most affected and take action where it is needed most.
