Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.
My Community Voice is a free messaging service that keeps you updated on local news, events and safety information from your policing team. Find out more and register for My Community Voice.

E-bikes/E-scooters.
Issued 20 July 2026
There have been reports of people riding electric and petrol-powered motorcycles around Hawkinge in a way that is both illegal and dangerous. This includes riding on footpaths and in areas intended for pedestrians, putting other people at risk. Local neighbourhood officers are working to tackle the problem by gathering information about those involved, carrying out regular patrols in affected areas and speaking with residents. Where offences are identified, officers will use available police powers to take action. This can include seizing motorcycles that are being used illegally. Seized vehicles may be destroyed where the law allows.

Road safety.
Issued 20 July 2026
Officers from local Neighbourhood Policing teams are working with colleagues from across Kent Police to tackle dangerous and illegal driving. This includes carrying out targeted activity at key locations across the area. Information provided by residents helps officers identify repeat offenders and focus enforcement activity where it is needed most. When operational commitments allow, officers also carry out speed checks using speed detection equipment to help deter speeding and improve road safety. Residents who would like to play a more active role in making local roads safer can also get involved in Community Speedwatch, a volunteer-led scheme that allows trained members of the public to monitor vehicle speeds and raise awareness of road safety issues in their communities.
