Your Community Safety Unit
Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

Nuisance vehicles.
Action taken:
Regular patrols continue at Park Pale to provide a visible police presence and deter nuisance vehicle activity. Officers are also working with partner agencies to enforce a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), which is a legal restriction that can be used to control how vehicles access or use specific roads and areas.
A recent multi-agency meeting has also taken place to plan further targeted operations aimed at tackling nuisance motorbikes and identifying those responsible. Officers will continue to patrol the area and take appropriate action to reduce antisocial vehicle use and improve safety for residents and visitors.

Public indecency offences.
Action taken:
Officers continue to carry out regular high-visibility patrols of the A226 lay-by in response to ongoing concerns. During these patrols, officers speak with individuals found in the area without a legitimate reason for being there and record their details where appropriate.
Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have also been issued to individuals linked to nuisance or antisocial behaviour. A CPW is a formal warning designed to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community. Where concerns continue or warnings are ignored, further enforcement action may be considered. Officers will continue to monitor the area and respond to reports from the public.

Action taken:
Officers have liaised with the local authority regarding reports of fly-tipping on Crutches Lane and continue to work closely with partner agencies to address any concerns. Encouragingly, there have been no further fly-tipping incidents reported to Kent Police. Officers will continue to monitor the area and support partners in protecting the local environment and tackling environmental crime.
