Nuisance bikes.
Issued 21 April 2026
On 12 May 2026, officers carried out a targeted operation to tackle the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes. As a result, 16 vehicles were seized and will be destroyed. Officers continue to take enforcement action against those using these vehicles unlawfully, helping to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve safety within the community.
Kent Police is also working closely with the local council to explore additional measures, including the installation of barriers on footpaths, to prevent nuisance bikes from accessing certain routes and public spaces. Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols and enforcement activity to tackle nuisance vehicle use and improve the quality of life for local residents.

Catapults.
Issued 21 April 2026
We have received no reports of catapult-related incidents in Woodlands during the current reporting period. However, officers continue to carry out proactive patrols in the area, including Woodlands Park, to identify any emerging issues and deter offending.
Where individuals are found carrying or using catapults in a manner that causes concern, appropriate action will be taken. This may include the seizure of catapults and the issuing of a Community Protection Warning (CPW). A CPW is a formal warning used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community and may lead to further enforcement action if incidents continue.
Officers will continue to patrol identified areas and work with local residents and partner agencies to help prevent future incidents.

Drug use.
Issued 21 April 2026
In response to concerns about suspected drug use and drug-related activity, officers have continued to carry out regular high-visibility patrols and targeted enforcement across the area. Officers are also proactively engaging with residents and using stop and search powers where lawful grounds exist. A stop and search is a legal power that allows officers to search people for items linked to criminal activity, including illegal drugs.
These actions help disrupt drug-related offending, deter those involved and provide reassurance to the local community. Officers will continue to carry out intelligence-led patrols, act on information provided by residents and take enforcement action where offences are identified to help keep the area safe.
