Road safety issues.

Local beat officers have been carrying out high-visibility patrols in areas where reports of antisocial driving and road traffic offences have been received. While no offences have been witnessed during recent patrols, a visible police presence helps deter unlawful driving and reassure local residents. Officers will continue to patrol these areas and take appropriate action where offences are identified to help keep local roads safe.

Theft - shoplifting.

Local beat officers have been working closely with businesses affected by theft, carrying out high-visibility patrols and reassurance visits in identified areas. This increased police presence has contributed to a reduction in reported theft offences. Officers will continue to work with businesses to identify repeat offenders and take robust action against those responsible. Ongoing partnership working and information sharing remain key to preventing crime and supporting local businesses.

Catapults.

We are aware of reports involving groups of young people using catapults in the area. Every report has been reviewed and investigated to identify those responsible. High-visibility patrols have been increased in affected locations, and parish councils have been asked to monitor hotspot areas using local CCTV where available.

Catapult misuse is a concern nationally and can lead to damage to property, harm to wildlife and risks to public safety. Officers continue to patrol identified areas, work with local schools to raise awareness and, where appropriate, use educational workbooks and early intervention measures with young people found carrying or using catapults.

Encouragingly, reports relating to catapult use have reduced over the past three months. We will continue to work with the community and partner agencies to address this issue and prevent further incidents.
