  • Our priorities
  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Catapults.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We are aware of reports of groups of young people using catapults in the area and have investigated each incident to identify those responsible. High-visibility patrols have been increased in affected locations, and parish councils have been asked to support monitoring through local CCTV where available.

Catapult-related incidents have become a concern across the country, with reports of damage to property, harm to wildlife and risks to public safety. Officers continue to patrol identified hotspot areas, raise awareness through local schools and, where appropriate, use educational workbooks and early intervention measures with young people found carrying or using catapults.

We will continue to work with partner agencies and the community to address this issue and encourage residents to report any concerns so that appropriate action can be taken.

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are carrying out regular patrols across the area and working closely with local residents and businesses to prevent antisocial behaviour and encourage the reporting of incidents. Information provided by the community helps officers identify those responsible and take appropriate action. Where young people are involved, officers work with them and their parents or guardians through measures such as Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, educational workbooks and referrals to diversionary programmes delivered by the Child Centred Policing Team. This approach aims to address behaviour at an early stage, prevent further incidents and support positive outcomes for young people.

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We continue to listen to concerns raised by residents about road safety. Information from the community has led to a number of vehicles being seized for having no valid tax or insurance. Regular high-visibility patrols on local roads have also resulted in Traffic Offence Reports being issued for offences including speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and driving without insurance.

Officers will continue to carry out patrols and enforcement activity to improve road safety and address concerns raised by the community. We also encourage parents and guardians collecting children from schools to park safely, considerately and in accordance with traffic regulations. To receive updates and stay in direct contact with your local neighbourhood officer, please join My Community Voice (MCV).
