Criminal damage.
Issued 14 April 2026
We are aware of issues involving groups of young people misusing catapults, which have caused damage to property and harm to wildlife.
Officers are carrying out patrols in affected areas and working with schools to raise awareness. Where appropriate, young people found with catapults are given educational guidance to help prevent further incidents.
We are also working with specialist investigation teams to follow all lines of enquiry in reported offences and identify those responsible.
