Catapults.
Action taken:
High-visibility patrols are taking place in areas such as Mote Park in response to concerns about catapult-related incidents. Where there are legal grounds, officers may use stop and search powers. A stop and search allows officers to search a person for items linked to criminal activity, including catapults where there is reason to believe they may be intended for unlawful use.
Officers will continue to patrol identified hotspot locations, respond to reports from residents and take appropriate action where offences or antisocial behaviour are identified. This work helps to deter offending, protect the public and reduce harm to wildlife and property.

Dog fouling.
Action taken:
We are working closely with Maidstone Borough Council and its Animal Welfare Licensing Officer to raise awareness of dog fouling across the area. Posters and stickers will be displayed in key locations to promote responsible dog ownership and encourage people to clean up after their pets. Residents can report incidents of dog fouling through the Maidstone Borough Council website, helping to identify problem areas and support appropriate enforcement action.

We are aware of ongoing concerns about the use of off-road bikes in the area. Officers continue to carry out proactive patrols on foot and in vehicles, using stop and search powers where appropriate. A stop and search is a legal power that allows officers to search people for items linked to criminal activity.
We work closely with residents and listen to concerns raised through community engagement events and local reporting. Information provided by the public helps officers identify those responsible and target patrols effectively. Any off-road bikes found being used illegally on public roads, footpaths or other public spaces may be seized, and appropriate enforcement action will be taken. Officers will continue to patrol identified hotspot areas to deter offending and improve community safety.
