about

Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.

We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.

We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

My Community Voice is a free messaging service that keeps you updated on local news, events and safety information from your policing team. Find out more and register for My Community Voice.

For more updates and advice, follow us on social media.

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Regular marked police patrols continue across the area, with officers stopping vehicles and dealing with a range of road traffic offences. Enforcement action has been taken for offences including speeding, poor vehicle condition and driving without valid tax or insurance, with vehicles seized where appropriate.

Officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols and take action against traffic offences to help improve road safety and address concerns raised by the community.

    Actioned 03 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Regular patrols are carried out in areas affected by nuisance motorbike activity to deter offending and identify those responsible. Where riders are identified, officers use road traffic legislation to seize vehicles where appropriate, while antisocial behaviour powers are used to address repeat offending and discourage further nuisance behaviour. Officers will continue to patrol hotspot locations and take action against those whose actions cause nuisance or put others at risk.

    Actioned 03 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are carrying out regular patrols and working closely with residents and businesses to prevent antisocial behaviour and encourage the reporting of incidents. Mobile CCTV has been used in identified hotspot areas to help deter offending and identify those responsible.

Where young people are identified as being involved in antisocial behaviour, officers take a preventative and safeguarding-focused approach. This can include Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, which are voluntary agreements between young people, their parents or guardians, and the police to address unacceptable behaviour. Educational workbooks and referrals to diversionary activities delivered by the Child Centred Policing Team are also used to help prevent further incidents and encourage positive behaviour.

    Actioned 03 July 2026
