Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Officers are carrying out regular patrols and working closely with residents and local businesses to help prevent antisocial behaviour and encourage reporting. Information provided by the community helps officers identify those responsible and target patrols where they are needed most.

Where individuals are identified, officers take a preventative approach to address behaviour at an early stage. This can include Acceptable Behaviour Agreements, educational workbooks and referrals to diversionary activities delivered by the Child Centred Policing Team. These measures help reduce repeat offending, encourage positive behaviour and support safer communities.

Catapults.

We are aware of concerns about groups of young people misusing catapults, which can cause damage to property and harm to wildlife. Officers continue to patrol identified hotspot areas and work closely with local schools to raise awareness of the risks and consequences associated with catapult use.

Where young people are found carrying or using catapults, officers take a preventative approach through education and early intervention. This may include providing educational guidance, engaging with parents or guardians and using diversionary activities where appropriate to help prevent further incidents and reduce repeat offending.

Wildlife crime issues.

We are aware of wildlife crime linked to the misuse of catapults, including incidents where animals and birds have been harmed. Officers carry out patrols in identified hotspot areas and, where appropriate, use stop and search powers to identify those carrying items intended for unlawful use. Catapults may be seized where offences are identified.

We also work closely with local schools to raise awareness of the impact catapult misuse can have on wildlife, property and public safety. Through education, engagement and enforcement, we aim to prevent further incidents and protect local wildlife.
