Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.
Issued 14 April 2026
With the warmer weather, the town centre has seen an increase in antisocial behaviour in several identified locations. To address this, an online meeting was held on 19 May, bringing together key partners to discuss ongoing issues at Buckhurst Lane Multi-Storey Car Park, the Leisure Centre and the Environmental Park in Sevenoaks. The meeting provided an opportunity to share concerns, gather feedback and agree a range of longer-term actions to tackle antisocial behaviour and crime.
Town centre CCTV continues to provide officers with clear images of those involved in incidents, helping to support investigations and identify offenders. The town also benefits from two dedicated town centre officers, supported by the wider neighbourhood policing team during periods of high demand. Officers will continue to work closely with local partners to address concerns, provide reassurance and improve community safety. Residents are encouraged to join My Community Voice (MCV) to receive updates and stay in direct contact with their local neighbourhood officer.

Shoplifting.
Issued 14 April 2026
Sevenoaks Town Centre continues to experience shoplifting, with repeat offenders targeting local businesses throughout the year. Dedicated Town Centre Officers, supported by the Neighbourhood Task Force and local Beat Officers, are working closely with the Business Crime Reduction Partnership, Sevenoaks CCTV operators and independent retailers to identify offenders and reduce retail crime.
This partnership approach has led to a number of stop and searches, arrests and successful prosecutions linked to shoplifting offences in the town centre. Officers will continue to carry out targeted patrols, share intelligence with partners and support local businesses through both enforcement activity and crime prevention advice. Residents and retailers are encouraged to report incidents promptly, as timely information helps identify offenders and prevent further offences. To receive updates and stay in direct contact with your local neighbourhood officer, please join My Community Voice (MCV).

Violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Issued 14 April 2026
This remains an ongoing priority in the town centre, and all reports made to Kent Police are reviewed and responded to appropriately. On 5 June 2026, PC Hubbard and PC Costin attended the Sevenoaks Business Show, where they provided advice and information on tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG) and raising awareness of drink spiking. Officers continue to work with businesses, partner agencies and the community to help improve safety and address concerns. Residents are encouraged to report any issues through Kent Police’s online reporting system. To receive updates and stay in direct contact with your local neighbourhood officer, please join My Community Voice (MCV).
