Nuisance vehicles.

Officers continue to work with residents and local communities to tackle nuisance vehicle use through targeted patrols and enforcement activity. Reports from the public help officers identify problem locations, gather intelligence and take action against those responsible. Officers carry out regular patrols in areas where concerns have been raised and use appropriate road traffic and antisocial behaviour powers where offences are identified. Through ongoing enforcement, community engagement and intelligence-led policing, officers continue to work to reduce nuisance vehicle use, improve road safety and enhance the quality of life for local residents. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting incidents, as information from the community plays a vital role in helping officers identify offenders and target resources effectively.

Nuisance antisocial behaviour.

Officers continue to work with local businesses, residents and partner organisations to address antisocial behaviour in the town centre. Regular patrols are carried out to provide reassurance, identify those responsible for offending and take action where appropriate. By working closely with local businesses and CCTV operators, officers are able to gather information, support investigations and respond effectively to incidents of antisocial behaviour.

Officers use a range of measures to tackle persistent antisocial behaviour, including Community Protection Warnings and other appropriate enforcement powers where necessary. However, officers also recognise the importance of early intervention and education, particularly when dealing with young people. Where appropriate, a restorative approach is used to help individuals understand the impact of their actions and encourage positive behaviour.

Officers continue to work proactively to tackle drug-related activity and address concerns raised by residents. Information provided by the community helps officers identify locations of concern, develop intelligence and direct patrols and enforcement activity where it is needed most.

Where appropriate, officers use stop and search powers to identify those involved in drug-related offending and gather evidence. A stop and search is a police power that allows officers to search a person for items such as illegal drugs, weapons or stolen property when certain legal conditions are met. Officers also work closely with partner agencies to disrupt criminal activity and take action against those involved in the use and supply of illegal drugs.
