Road safety issues.

Officers have carried out high‑visibility patrols focused on the "Fatal Four" (the main causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, and careless driving).

Enforcement action has been taken, including arrests for drug driving and other traffic offences. Two individuals have since been disqualified from driving by the courts. Further arrests and vehicle seizures have also taken place as part of ongoing work to improve road safety.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Officers are carrying out regular patrols to tackle nuisance motorbike use and improve road safety.

This includes targeted patrols focused on the "Fatal Four" (the main causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, and careless driving).

Officers have also recovered stolen motorcycles and made arrests linked to offences. This work aims to reduce nuisance behaviour and keep the community safe.

E-Scooters/e-bikes.

Police have carried out an operation to tackle the illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes.

During patrols, a number of e‑scooters being used unlawfully were seized and removed. Seized vehicles are destroyed so they cannot be used again.

Officers will continue regular patrols to deter antisocial use of these vehicles and keep the area safe.
