Road safety issues.
Issued 16 April 2026
Road safety remains a key concern for residents.
Plans are in place to increase patrols and carry out more speed checks across the area, with results to be shared with the community.
Recent enforcement has included an arrest following a collision involving an e‑bike where the rider failed to stop. This investigation is ongoing.
Residents are encouraged to report concerns about road safety, nuisance vehicles and specific locations via the Kent Police website or by calling 101.

E-scooters/e-bikes.
Issued 16 April 2026
A recent operation has targeted the illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes.
During patrols, several vehicles being used unlawfully were seized and removed. Seized vehicles are destroyed so they cannot be used again.
Officers take this issue seriously due to the risks to both riders and the public. Further patrols and operations will continue to reduce illegal use and improve safety.
Residents are encouraged to keep sharing concerns through local meetings or My Community Voice (an online two-way messaging service used to report issues and receive updates).

Drug dealing.
Issued 16 April 2026
PC Albers is taking action to tackle drug dealing and its wider impact on the community.
High‑visibility patrols are taking place in known hotspot areas, with stop and search powers used where appropriate. Stop and search is a legal power that allows officers to search people for items such as drugs.
Officers are also working with partner agencies to identify vulnerable people who may be at risk of being exploited or having their property used for criminal activity. Welfare checks are carried out at identified addresses to provide support and help prevent harm.
Information from the community plays a key role in this work. Through a combination of visible patrols, engagement and enforcement, officers are working to reduce drug‑related harm and keep the area safe.
