Fly-tipping.

Fly‑tipping was raised as a concern by residents in the recent survey. Since then, officers have worked with local councillors to identify problem areas and carry out targeted patrols.

Items such as nitrous oxide (NOS) canisters have been removed from affected locations, and reports of fly‑tipping are regularly attended to gather evidence and identify those responsible.

Officers have also supported a multi‑agency operation with partner organisations, which included enforcement action such as issuing warning letters to businesses about waste disposal.

This ongoing work helps keep the area clean, identify offenders and prevent further offences.

Road safety issues.

Road safety is a key concern for residents, and PC Crush has taken action to address this.

Officers are carrying out high‑visibility patrols targeting the "Fatal Four" (the main causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, and careless driving).

This work has led to arrests for drug driving and other traffic offences. Two drivers have since appeared in court and been disqualified from driving. Further arrests have also been made following proactive stops, and one vehicle has been seized for having no insurance.

This ongoing approach combines visible patrols and enforcement to improve road safety and reduce risk.

Nuisance motorcycles.

Officers are carrying out regular patrols to tackle nuisance motorbike use and improve road safety.

These patrols focus on problem areas and target the "Fatal Four" (the main causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving, and careless driving).

Officers have also recovered stolen motorcycles and arrested a suspect linked to this activity. This proactive approach aims to reduce nuisance behaviour and help keep the community safe.
