  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Absolon has carried out speed enforcement checks in the Viking area, including on Dumpton Park Drive, using speed‑recording equipment to monitor traffic.

During these checks, several vehicles were stopped for exceeding the speed limit. This supports concerns raised by local residents and shows that speeding remains an issue in these locations.

Further traffic operations are planned, combining enforcement with education to help improve driver behaviour and reduce speeding. This ongoing work aims to make roads safer for everyone.

Residents are encouraged to continue sharing concerns through local ward surgeries or My Community Voice (an online two-way messaging service used to report issues and receive updates).

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/e-bikes.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Absolon has been carrying out regular patrols to help keep people safe and tackle issues in the local area.

He has supported police operations focused on the illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes. As part of this work, several vehicles being used unlawfully have been seized and removed from the streets. Seized vehicles are destroyed so they cannot be used again.

Illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes can be dangerous for both riders and other members of the public, particularly when used on roads and pavements without meeting legal requirements. Officers take a firm approach and will continue to act where offences are identified.

This work will continue through regular patrols and targeted operations to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve safety across the area.

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Absolon continues to focus on tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB) across the area.

Regular patrols are taking place in the town centre, seafront and surrounding areas where residents and businesses have raised concerns. During these patrols, officers speak with young people to explain how their behaviour can affect others and help prevent issues from escalating.

Where needed, dispersal powers are used (which allow officers to direct people to leave an area for a set time) to deal with incidents during busy periods. Officers take a firm approach with those who continue to cause problems.

PC Absolon also works with local schools, delivering education sessions to raise awareness of how antisocial behaviour impacts communities and to help prevent future issues.
