about

Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.

We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.

We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

My Community Voice is a free messaging service that keeps you updated on local news, events and safety information from your policing team. Find out more and register for My Community Voice.

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are carrying out increased patrols in antisocial behaviour hotspots across Aylesford South and Ditton, particularly around stream areas where concerns have been raised by residents.

These locations can attract groups during warmer weather, sometimes leading to nuisance behaviour and community concerns. Officers will maintain a visible presence to deter antisocial behaviour, provide reassurance and engage with local people.

Speaking with residents helps officers gather information, understand local concerns and identify those responsible for causing problems. Where appropriate, individuals may be given advice, challenged about their behaviour or dealt with through enforcement action.

For ongoing antisocial behaviour, officers can use Community Protection Warnings and Community Protection Notices. These are formal measures designed to stop behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community.

Officers remain committed to reducing antisocial behaviour and helping to keep the area safe for everyone.

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have been carrying out targeted road safety work on Station Road and Hall Road in response to concerns raised by the local community.

Speed checks, visible patrols and enforcement activity have taken place to help deter offending and encourage safer driving. Drivers found exceeding the speed limit or driving carelessly may face enforcement action.

This work forms part of an ongoing effort to improve road safety, reduce risks to pedestrians and other road users, and address concerns about driving standards in the area. Officers will continue to monitor these locations and take action where necessary.

    Actioned 02 July 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/e-bikes.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to investigate reports of e-scooters and e-bikes being used in an unsafe or antisocial manner within the area.

Enquiries have been carried out to identify those involved, but the riders have not yet been identified. Work is ongoing to gather information and build intelligence so that appropriate action can be taken.

Once identified, those involved may receive advice, warnings or enforcement action, depending on the circumstances. This may include a Section 59 warning, which can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle can be seized.

This work aims to improve safety, reduce antisocial behaviour and encourage compliance with the law. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting concerns, as information from the public helps officers identify those responsible and take action where appropriate.
