Your Community Safety Unit
Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

Action taken:
Road safety remains a priority within the ward. Over the last 3 months, officers have carried out speed checks on local roads in response to concerns raised by residents about speeding and driver behaviour.
Enforcement action has been taken where offences have been identified, including the issuing of Traffic Offence Reports. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal report used when a driver is suspected of committing a road traffic offence.
Alongside enforcement, officers continue to engage with road users and carry out patrols to promote safer driving and provide reassurance to the community.
This ongoing work aims to improve driver behaviour, reduce risks to pedestrians and other road users, and help keep the area's roads safe for everyone.

Antisocial behaviour - general.
Action taken:
Over the last 3 months, officers have continued to carry out regular high-visibility patrols across the ward to help prevent antisocial behaviour and provide reassurance to local residents.
Patrol activity is guided by community feedback and local intelligence, ensuring officers are visible in areas where concerns have been raised. Officers also work closely with residents and partner agencies to identify issues early and take action before they escalate.
This ongoing approach helps to deter antisocial behaviour, address community concerns and maintain a safe environment for everyone who lives, works and visits the area.

E-scooters/e-bikes.
Action taken:
Over the last 3 months, officers have continued to respond to reports and concerns about nuisance motorcycles, e-scooters and e-bikes within the ward.
Patrols have taken place in areas identified through community reports and local intelligence, with officers focusing on the illegal or antisocial use of these vehicles on roads, footpaths and public open spaces. Officers have also worked closely with residents and partner agencies to better understand when and where issues are occurring.
Information provided by the public helps officers identify hotspot locations and those responsible for offending. Where offences are identified, appropriate action will be taken. This may include a Section 59 warning, which can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a way that causes alarm, distress or annoyance. If the behaviour continues, the vehicle can be seized.
Officers will continue to monitor reports, carry out targeted patrols and take enforcement action where necessary to improve safety and reduce antisocial behaviour in the area.
