Nuisance motorcycles.
Issued 20 July 2026
There have been reports of nuisance motorbike activity, and officers continue to respond to information provided by residents. Where reports are received, officers will make enquiries to locate those responsible and take appropriate action where offences are identified.
Police have a range of powers available to deal with motorcycles that are being used illegally or in an antisocial manner. However, in many cases, offences need to be witnessed by officers or supported by sufficient evidence before enforcement action can be taken.
As part of ongoing work to tackle vehicle-related crime, officers recently located and seized a motorcycle linked to a serious criminal investigation. The vehicle was recovered for forensic examination, which can help officers gather evidence and support ongoing enquiries.
We encourage residents to continue reporting incidents and providing information, as this helps officers identify offenders and take action to keep local communities safe.

Highways obstructions.
Issued 20 July 2026
There have been a number of reports of sheep straying onto the road, creating a potential danger for motorists and other road users.
When these incidents are reported, officers contact the owner to ensure the animals are safely returned and the risk is removed as quickly as possible. We continue to monitor the situation and work with those responsible for the animals to help prevent further incidents.
If the issue becomes persistent, enforcement options may be considered to reduce the risk to road users and improve safety on the road network.

Road safety issues.
Issued 20 July 2026
Officers have carried out speed checks in Seasalter in response to concerns raised by local residents.
The policing team works closely with Community Speedwatch volunteers to identify roads where speeding is reported and review data that helps highlight locations where vehicles may be travelling above the speed limit. This information is used to help target enforcement activity where it is most needed.
Officers are also exploring opportunities to expand Community Speedwatch activity within the area. Community Speedwatch is a volunteer-led scheme that allows trained local residents to monitor vehicle speeds and share information with police to help address speeding concerns.
We will continue to monitor reports, carry out speed enforcement activity and work with residents to improve road safety across the community.
