Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Road safety issues.

Speeding and the use of off-road bikes remain ongoing concerns within the ward and continue to be local policing priorities. Officers will be using speed detection equipment to monitor vehicle speeds and help reduce speeding, while increased foot patrols will take place in areas identified as hotspots for off-road bike activity. These patrols are designed to deter antisocial behaviour, improve road safety and provide reassurance to local residents.

Officers also responded to a report of a vehicle being driven without number plates. Enquiries established that the vehicle's registration plates had been cloned, meaning the registration number had been copied and used unlawfully on another vehicle. Appropriate action has been taken in relation to the matter, and officers will continue to investigate offences that put road users and the wider community at risk.

Fly tipping.

Fly-tipping, which is the illegal dumping of waste, was identified in Sturry by the local neighbourhood policing team and reported to the council. The council has since taken action to address the issue. Responsibility for removing fly-tipped waste and investigating most fly-tipping offences sits with the local authority, so neighbourhood officers work closely with council teams to ensure incidents are dealt with quickly. Local officers will continue to report any further fly-tipping they identify during patrols so that appropriate action can be taken. This partnership approach helps to keep the area clean, protect the local environment and improve the quality of life for residents.

Dog fouling.

Concerns about dog fouling within the ward have been recognised and shared with the appropriate local authority. Responsibility for dealing with dog fouling and taking enforcement action rests with the local council, which has the powers to investigate reports and issue penalties where necessary. Residents who have raised concerns have been directed to the council’s reporting channels so that incidents can be dealt with by the responsible authority. Dog fouling can affect public health, damage the local environment and make public spaces less pleasant for everyone. By ensuring concerns are reported to the correct organisation, local agencies can work together to help keep the area clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.
