Road safety issues.
Issued 14 April 2026
We have continued both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols in vehicles and on foot to address road safety concerns in the Middle Deal area. This has included seizing illegal e-scooters, taking action against drivers committing road traffic offences, and, where needed, seizing vehicles.
In recent months, officers have also been carrying out targeted road safety checks, stopping vehicles to make sure drivers are safe to drive, that vehicles are roadworthy, and that the correct documents are in place. Where appropriate, drivers have been tested for alcohol and drugs.
We encourage anyone with information about those contributing to these issues to contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

Drug dealing.
Issued 14 April 2026
Over the last few months, officers have carried out both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols in the Middle Deal area to tackle drug-related activity. This has included stop and search checks to gather information and identify those involved, with all available intelligence acted on where possible.
During this time, a number of cannabis factories have been found in Deal, dismantled and dealt with through the courts, helping to address the issue at source. We remain committed to tackling drug-related crime and taking action against those responsible.
We encourage anyone with information about this type of activity to contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.

Drink/drug driving.
Issued 14 April 2026
We have continued both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols in vehicles and on foot to address road safety concerns in the Middle Deal area, with a focus on drink and drug driving. Information from the public plays an important role in this work, as it helps us identify repeat offenders and respond quickly by stopping vehicles and taking action where offences are found.
Officers have also been visiting local pubs to provide a visible police presence and help prevent drink and drug driving at its source. We work closely with these venues to encourage responsible drinking and reduce the risk of people driving while over the limit.
We encourage anyone with information about those involved to contact Kent Police or report anonymously through Crimestoppers.
