  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

A traffic operation has been carried out across the Folkestone area, including the East Ward, to address road safety concerns and tackle driving offences. As part of this work, officers have carried out traffic stops focusing on issues such as speeding, dangerous driving and other offences that can put road users at risk. These checks help officers identify unsafe driving, provide advice where appropriate and take enforcement action when offences are detected. Road safety remains a priority, and these traffic operations will continue throughout the summer to help improve driver behaviour and keep local roads safe for residents, visitors, cyclists and pedestrians.

  • Priority:

    Drug dealing.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to work closely with housing providers and other partner agencies to address suspected drug-related activity at individual properties within the area. This partnership approach helps to disrupt criminal behaviour and reduce the impact on local residents. Officers regularly carry out proactive foot patrols and, where there are legal grounds to do so, use stop and search powers to identify people involved in drug-related offences. A stop and search is a police power that allows officers to search a person for prohibited items or evidence of criminal activity. In addition to enforcement activity, officers continue to engage with residents in East Ward through regular meetings at Harbour Church. These conversations provide an opportunity for local people to share concerns, raise issues affecting their community and work with officers to help keep the area safe.

  • Priority:

    Highway obstructions.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have continued to carry out patrols along Crete Road East to provide a visible police presence and help deter fly-tipping. Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste and can have a negative impact on both the environment and the local community. The local council has responded quickly to reports and has been removing waste promptly once incidents are identified. Officers will continue to patrol the area throughout the summer and work closely with the council to identify those responsible wherever possible. This partnership approach helps to reduce environmental crime, improve the appearance of the area and maintain a cleaner environment for residents and visitors.
