Antisocial behaviour.

In response to ongoing concerns about antisocial behaviour, officers have identified a number of repeat offenders responsible for causing disruption within the community. Working proactively with partner agencies, a total of eight Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) and several Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have been issued.

An ABA is a voluntary agreement between an individual, and where appropriate their parent or guardian, and the police that sets out expected standards of behaviour. A CPW is a formal warning issued when behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community and may lead to further enforcement action if the behaviour continues.

In some cases, additional conditions have been introduced to prevent individuals from entering Gravesend town centre, helping to address issues in areas most affected by the reported behaviour. These measures are already helping to reduce incidents and improve the environment for residents, businesses and visitors. Officers will continue to monitor those involved and take further action where necessary to help keep the community safe and welcoming.

Nuisance vehicles.

Following concerns about nuisance e-scooter and e-bike use, officers have carried out a number of targeted operations across the area. These proactive patrols have resulted in multiple illegally used e-scooters and e-bikes being seized, helping to reduce antisocial behaviour and improve public safety.

On 6 June 2026, a joint operation involving the Roads Policing Unit and Immigration Enforcement took place in Gravesend town centre and surrounding areas. High-visibility patrols were carried out, during which a number of individuals were stopped and several e-scooters were seized for offences relating to illegal use.

Officers will continue to carry out targeted enforcement activity and proactive patrols to tackle nuisance vehicles, improve road safety and help keep public spaces safe for residents and visitors.

Alcohol use.

In response to concerns regarding public drinking and associated antisocial behaviour within the ward, officers have continued to carry out targeted high-visibility patrols in identified hotspot areas. Officers regularly engage with individuals consuming alcohol in public spaces and take appropriate action where necessary, including issuing warnings and using relevant enforcement powers.

Kent Police is also working with Gravesham Borough Council to explore the introduction of a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order designed to tackle antisocial behaviour in public places and can provide additional powers to seize alcohol and issue fixed penalty notices where appropriate.

These measures help prevent disorder, reduce antisocial behaviour and ensure public spaces remain safe and welcoming for residents and visitors. Officers will continue to monitor the situation, respond to community concerns and take action where necessary.
