E-scooters/e-bikes.
Issued 14 April 2026
High-visibility patrols have been carried out in key locations, including Grovewood Drive South, Tesco and Weavering Street, at times when concerns are most likely to occur.
Officers continue to raise awareness that privately owned e-scooters cannot be used legally on public roads, pavements or other public places unless they are part of an approved rental scheme. This message has been shared through community updates and school visits, particularly with young people.
Officers will continue to educate the public and take enforcement action where necessary, including the seizure of illegally used e-scooters.

Vehicle crime.
Issued 14 April 2026
We continue to carry out proactive patrols using both marked and unmarked police vehicles to deter crime and identify suspicious activity. Officers are also working closely with the parish council, residents and local businesses, providing crime prevention advice and reassurance to help reduce opportunities for vehicle crime. This partnership approach supports ongoing efforts to keep the community safe and prevent further offences.

Road safety issues.
Issued 14 April 2026
Regular marked police patrols have resulted in a number of vehicles being stopped and dealt with for traffic offences. Community Speedwatch has also taken place in areas including Grovewood Drive North, New Cut Road, Sittingbourne Road and Penenden Heath. Community Speedwatch is a scheme where trained volunteers work with police to monitor vehicle speeds and raise awareness of road safety concerns.
We will continue to patrol the area, carry out speed enforcement activity and take action against drivers who commit road traffic offences to help keep local roads safe.
