Nuisance motorcycles.
Issued 20 July 2026
Using powers available under the Medway-wide Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), officers have issued several fines to people using vehicles in a way that causes nuisance or antisocial behaviour. Work is continuing with the local authority to explore the use of speed cameras and Community Speed Watch schemes to help identify and address nuisance vehicles. Riders of nuisance motorcycles have also been given Section 59 warnings. A Section 59 warning can be issued when a vehicle is being used in a manner that causes alarm, distress or annoyance to the public. If the rider or driver is reported again, the vehicle could be seized by police.

E-Scooters/Bikes.
Issued 20 July 2026
Local officers continue to stop riders using e-scooters and e-bikes illegally and take action where offences are identified. Where legislation allows, vehicles can be seized and, in some cases, destroyed. Riders may also be reported or dealt with for a range of road traffic and other offences. Officers are also engaging with local communities to raise awareness of the law, helping people understand when and where these vehicles can be used legally and the potential consequences of using them unlawfully.
