Road safety.
Action taken:
Officers carry out speed checks and stop drivers in areas where residents have raised concerns about road safety. These checks help identify unsafe driving and encourage motorists to follow speed limits and other road traffic laws. Drivers who commit offences may be issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR), reported to court or, in some cases, arrested, depending on the circumstances. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. Officers also work closely with partner organisations and local schools to promote road safety, helping to educate children and young people about staying safe on and around the roads and encouraging responsible behaviour from all road users.

Drug dealing.
Action taken:
Police in Medway are taking action to tackle drug crime.
We use community information to guide our work, carry out search warrants (legal permission to search a property), and deploy plain clothes officers. We also work with specialist teams to target organised drug networks, including county lines (where gangs use mobile phone lines to control drug dealing across areas).

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

We work closely with Medway Council, Housing Teams and youth services to tackle antisocial behaviour and prevent it escalating.
Where needed, we use powers such as dispersal orders (which allow officers to direct people to leave an area) and Community Protection Warnings and Notices (formal actions used to stop ongoing antisocial behaviour).
Reports from local people help us focus our patrols, so please continue to share any concerns with us.
