    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    E-scooters and e-bikes.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers from the Medway Community Safety Unit have recently carried out a targeted operation to tackle the unlawful and antisocial use of e-bikes and e-scooters. During the operation, several e-scooters were seized and riders were dealt with for a range of offences. Some e-scooters and e-bikes are illegal on public roads, pavements and other public spaces, creating risks for pedestrians and other road users. These enforcement activities are designed to improve safety, reduce antisocial behaviour and address concerns raised by local residents. Officers will continue to carry out targeted operations and patrols to identify offenders and take appropriate action where offences are detected.

  • Priority:

    Theft - shoplifting.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Local officers have been working closely with businesses to tackle shoplifting and support retailers affected by theft. As part of this work, officers carry out regular high-visibility patrols to deter offending, provide reassurance to staff and customers, and help prevent theft from taking place. Officers also work with businesses to share information and identify people suspected of being involved in shoplifting and other retail crime. This information helps officers target their patrols, identify repeat offenders and take appropriate action, including making arrests where offences have been committed. Reducing shoplifting remains a priority, and officers will continue to work with local businesses to help keep shopping areas safe and welcoming for everyone.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

    Drug dealing.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Using information provided by the local community, officers carry out targeted patrols in areas where drug dealing has been reported or suspected. These patrols help officers gather information, deter criminal activity and identify people involved in drug-related offences. Where officers have reasonable grounds to suspect a person is carrying drugs or other prohibited items, they may use stop and search powers. These proactive patrols and enforcement activities have led to offenders being identified and arrested where appropriate. Officers will continue to work with local residents and carry out targeted activity to tackle drug-related crime and help keep the community safe.

    Actioned 30 June 2026
