Nuisance vehicles.
Issued 21 July 2026
Officers continue to work with local partners and parish representatives to address concerns about vehicle-related antisocial behaviour in Lower Upnor Car Park. A range of potential measures has been identified and is being considered to help reduce nuisance vehicle use and improve community safety. Officers have also worked with the local authority to take action against vehicles being used unlawfully, including the seizure of several untaxed vehicles. In response to reports of antisocial vehicle use, patrols have been increased across the area and enforcement action has been taken where offences have been identified. This has included issuing Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) to motorcycle riders and passengers involved in nuisance behaviour. A Traffic Offence Report is a formal process used to deal with road traffic offences. Through ongoing patrols, partnership working and enforcement activity, officers continue to address concerns raised by residents and improve safety within the community.

Drug taking.
Issued 21 July 2026
Officers have carried out a number of stop and searches in and around the disused Arethusa Adventure Centre in response to concerns about drug use. A stop and search is a police power that allows officers to search a person for items such as illegal drugs, weapons or stolen property when certain legal conditions are met. Although no drugs were found during these searches, the increased police presence and proactive patrols help deter drug-related activity, disrupt offending behaviour and provide reassurance to local residents. Through ongoing patrols and engagement with the community, officers continue to respond to concerns and address issues affecting the area.
