Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.
Issued 16 April 2026
PC Lawford and PC Parsons are continuing to take action against repeat antisocial behaviour (ASB) offenders, with arrests made in the town centre and case files being prepared for court.
Work is ongoing to address persistent issues, alongside planning for increased high‑visibility patrols during busy periods, including the summer months.
Officers are also working with the Child Centred Policing Team to support early intervention. This includes home visits and engagement with young people identified as being involved, to help prevent further antisocial behaviour.
Residents are encouraged to share concerns through local ward surgeries or My Community Voice (an online two-way messaging service used to report issues and receive updates).

E-scooters/e-bikes.
Issued 16 April 2026
Officers are carrying out enforcement activity to tackle the illegal use of e‑scooters.
During patrols, riders are stopped and spoken to about the law and safe use of these vehicles. Joint operations with other police teams have led to vehicle seizures and enforcement action where offences are identified.
Officers are also engaging with young people to raise awareness of the risks associated with e‑scooters and help prevent misuse.

Road safety issues.
Issued 16 April 2026
PC Lawford is carrying out proactive speed enforcement across the area, with vehicles stopped where necessary to provide advice and take action.
During these checks, vehicles are also inspected to ensure they meet legal requirements, including having valid tax, insurance and MOT (a yearly safety check for vehicles).
Areas of concern identified through patrols and community reports have been shared with the Roads Policing Unit. They are working with the Neighbourhood Task Force to carry out targeted days of action, combining enforcement with road safety advice.
Residents are encouraged to continue sharing any concerns through local ward surgeries or My Community Voice (an online two-way messaging service used to report issues and receive updates).
