  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Theft.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

There have been no reported shop thefts within the ward during this reporting period, which is positive news for local businesses and the community.

Shop theft remains a policing priority due to the impact repeat offenders can have across multiple locations. Officers have carried out proactive work to identify and target those responsible for persistent offending, resulting in a number of offenders being prosecuted and receiving prison sentences.

Local officers continue to work closely with retailers and business owners, carrying out both high-visibility and plain-clothed patrols to deter offending, gather evidence and take action where offences are identified.

This ongoing work aims to protect local businesses, reduce crime and help keep shopping areas safe for staff, customers and visitors.

    Actioned 02 July 2026

  • Priority:

    Criminal damage.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Criminal damage remains low within the Bourne ward. However, the use of catapults continues to be a concern across parts of the district due to incidents involving damage to property and harm to wildlife.

While there have been very few recent reports within the ward itself, the rural nature of the area means some incidents may go unnoticed or unreported. Officers continue to monitor reports and gather information to help identify those responsible.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity, criminal damage or information about those using catapults to commit offences. Information from the public helps officers build intelligence, identify patterns and take action to prevent further incidents.

  • Priority:

    Fly tipping.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Fly-tipping continues to affect the local environment and the wider community. While responsibility for investigating and removing fly-tipped waste usually rests with the local council, information from residents can help identify those responsible.

Fly-tipping is sometimes linked to other criminal activity, and reports can support wider investigations and enforcement action. Residents are encouraged to report incidents as soon as possible and provide any evidence they may have, such as vehicle registration numbers, descriptions of people involved, photographs or CCTV footage.

Information provided by the public helps partner agencies take action against offenders and supports ongoing efforts to reduce environmental crime in the ward.

    Actioned 02 July 2026
