about

Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.

We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.

We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

My Community Voice is a free messaging service that keeps you updated on local news, events and safety information from your policing team. Find out more and register for My Community Voice.

  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers continue to carry out patrols in areas where antisocial behaviour has been reported, with a particular focus on East Peckham following concerns about vehicle gatherings and related nuisance behaviour.

High-visibility patrols are being used to deter offending and provide reassurance to residents, while officers continue to monitor reports and respond to concerns where resources allow.

A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) remains in place to help tackle issues linked to car meets and vehicle-related antisocial behaviour. A PSPO is a legal measure that allows specific restrictions to be put in place to address behaviour that is causing problems for the local community. Officers can take enforcement action where these restrictions are breached.

Officers will continue to work with local communities to address concerns and take appropriate action where offences or antisocial behaviour are identified.

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorbikes.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Nuisance motorbike activity continues to be a concern on the A228 in East Peckham, particularly on Thursday evenings when groups of riders gather, causing noise nuisance and antisocial behaviour concerns for local residents.

In response, officers have carried out targeted patrols and monitoring during key periods. During a recent operation, 14 riders were identified and issued with Community Protection Warnings. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning issued to someone whose behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community. If the behaviour continues, further action can be taken, including the issuing of a Community Protection Notice.

One rider was also identified for further investigation in connection with other suspected offences.

Officers will continue to monitor the area and carry out targeted enforcement activity to help reduce antisocial behaviour, address community concerns and improve the quality of life for local residents.

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 15 April 2026

    Action taken:

Road safety remains a priority, particularly along the A228 and other locations where concerns have been raised by the community.

Officers have carried out targeted patrols and enforcement activity to address dangerous driving and nuisance motorbike use. During a recent operation, 14 riders were issued with Community Protection Warnings. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning issued when someone's behaviour is having a negative impact on the local community. Continued offending may lead to a Community Protection Notice and further enforcement action.

Officers also continue to identify drivers who are disqualified, uninsured or driving without the correct licence. Where offences are detected, appropriate enforcement action is taken to help keep unsafe drivers off the roads.

Patrols and enforcement activity will continue at key times and locations to improve road safety, reduce antisocial behaviour and help protect all road users.

    Actioned 02 July 2026
