Nuisance motorcycles.
Issued 20 July 2026
Reports of nuisance motorcycles have reduced following the use of Community Protection Warnings (CPWs). A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning issued when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community.
Officers continue to work with the local council to install signage explaining the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in affected areas. A PSPO is a legal measure used to address persistent antisocial behaviour in a specific location.
Officers have also engaged with motorcycle riders to raise awareness of these restrictions and encourage responsible riding. Through ongoing patrols, education and partnership working, officers continue to address concerns and reduce the impact of nuisance motorcycles on local residents.

Road safety issues.
Issued 20 July 2026
Officers continue to prioritise road safety through targeted patrols and enforcement activity in response to concerns raised by residents. Speed checks are carried out in identified locations, and officers take action where offences are detected.
Daily roads policing activity also includes vehicle stops and the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology to identify vehicles linked to offences. ANPR is a system that automatically reads vehicle registration numbers and helps police identify vehicles that may be uninsured, stolen or linked to criminal activity. This ongoing work helps improve road safety, deter offending and address concerns raised by the local community.
