Road safety issues.

Officers continue to carry out patrols in rural areas and respond to concerns raised by residents regarding speeding, inconsiderate driving and vehicle-related antisocial behaviour. High-visibility patrols and roadside checks help deter offending, identify those committing offences and provide reassurance to local communities.

Engagement with motorists, cyclists and other road users also provides opportunities to promote safer road use, raise awareness of road safety issues and encourage compliance with road traffic laws. Where offences are identified, officers take appropriate action, including issuing warnings, traffic offence reports and enforcement measures where necessary.

Through a combination of enforcement, education and community engagement, officers remain committed to improving road safety, reducing the risk of harm and addressing concerns raised by residents across rural communities.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Reducing antisocial behaviour remains a priority for neighbourhood officers working across the Hawkhurst, Sandhurst and Benenden areas. Officers continue to carry out patrols in locations where concerns have been raised about nuisance behaviour, vehicle-related antisocial behaviour and activity that negatively affects residents' quality of life.

Officers work closely with local residents, parish councils and partner agencies to identify emerging issues, gather information and develop long-term solutions. This partnership approach helps ensure resources are targeted effectively and concerns are addressed at an early stage.

Where individuals are identified as causing persistent problems, appropriate action is taken using a range of interventions, including engagement, warnings and referrals to partner agencies for additional support. Through a combination of prevention, early intervention and enforcement, officers remain committed to reducing antisocial behaviour and helping to keep local communities safe and welcoming.

Catapults.

Officers continue to respond proactively to reports involving the misuse of catapults. Where individuals have been identified, appropriate action has been taken through criminal investigations, alongside engagement with parents or guardians where suitable. The misuse of catapults can cause harm to wildlife, damage property and create fear within the community, and reports of this nature are taken seriously.

Alongside enforcement activity, officers are delivering a range of education and awareness initiatives to highlight the dangers and consequences of irresponsible catapult use. This includes engagement with local schools and young people to raise awareness of the impact catapult-related offences can have on wildlife, public safety and the wider community.

Through a combination of enforcement, education and early intervention, officers remain committed to preventing further incidents, identifying those responsible and helping to keep local communities safe.
