Your Community Safety Unit
Your Community Safety Unit is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

Drug taking.
Action taken:
Officers have been proactively addressing reports of drug-related activity in the Pantiles area following concerns raised by residents and local businesses. Through targeted patrols and ongoing enquiries, several individuals linked to drug use and associated antisocial behaviour at a local address have been identified.
Where appropriate, Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have been issued. A CPW is a formal warning used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community and may lead to further enforcement action if the behaviour continues.
Officers will continue to monitor the location, carry out high-visibility patrols and work closely with partner agencies to reduce the impact of drug-related activity and antisocial behaviour on local residents and businesses. Information from the community remains vital, and we encourage anyone with concerns to continue reporting them to Kent Police.

Alcohol-related disorder has also been a focus for neighbourhood officers in the Pantiles area. Following concerns raised by residents and local businesses, officers identified a number of individuals whose alcohol-related behaviour was contributing to nuisance and disorder. Appropriate action has been taken, including the issuing of Community Protection Warnings (CPWs). A CPW is a formal warning used to address behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community and may lead to further enforcement action if the behaviour continues.
Officers continue to carry out patrols, engage with those involved and work with partner agencies to prevent further incidents. This ongoing activity aims to reduce antisocial behaviour and ensure the Pantiles remains a safe and welcoming place for residents, businesses and visitors.

Action taken:
Officers continue to respond to reports of antisocial behaviour in the Pantiles through targeted patrols and enforcement activity. Significant time has been dedicated to investigating a reported indecent exposure, including extensive CCTV enquiries and evidence gathering to support the investigation.
In addition, 2 young people responsible for graffiti-related criminal damage and the theft of alcohol were identified and dealt with through Community Resolutions. A Community Resolution is an out-of-court outcome that allows offences to be addressed while ensuring offenders take responsibility for their actions and the impact on victims and the wider community.
Officers will continue to patrol the area, investigate reports and work with local businesses and residents to reduce antisocial behaviour and help ensure the Pantiles remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
