Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

Tackling antisocial behaviour remains a key priority for neighbourhood officers. Officers continue to respond to concerns raised by residents and businesses through a combination of high-visibility patrols, proactive engagement and enforcement action where necessary.

Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) have been issued to individuals whose behaviour has had a negative impact on the local community. A CPW is a formal warning designed to address antisocial behaviour at an early stage and may lead to further enforcement action if the behaviour continues.

This work is supported by close partnership working with housing providers, local authorities and support services to address the underlying causes of persistent issues and develop long-term solutions. Through a combination of prevention, early intervention and enforcement, officers remain committed to reducing antisocial behaviour, supporting those affected and improving the quality of life for local residents.

Homelessness and begging.

Officers recognise the concerns that residents and businesses may have regarding street begging and rough sleeping, while also recognising that those involved can often be vulnerable and in need of support. Neighbourhood officers work closely with local authorities, outreach services and charitable organisations to help ensure individuals are directed towards appropriate support and assistance.

Where concerns are raised about aggressive begging, antisocial behaviour or criminal activity, officers will take proportionate and appropriate action to protect the community and address any offences that have been committed. At the same time, partnership working continues to focus on tackling the underlying causes of these issues and supporting individuals to access long-term help.

Through a balanced approach of enforcement, engagement and partnership working, officers aim to improve the experience of residents, businesses and visitors while ensuring vulnerable individuals receive the support they need.

Violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Protecting women and girls and ensuring they feel safe within our communities remains a key policing priority. Neighbourhood officers continue to work closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to identify locations where people may feel vulnerable and to address behaviours that contribute to fear, harassment or intimidation.

Reports of violence, harassment, stalking and sexual offences are taken seriously and are thoroughly investigated. High-visibility patrols are regularly carried out in town centres, parks and other public spaces to provide reassurance, deter offending and maintain a visible police presence within the community.

Officers also work with partner agencies to identify offenders, safeguard those at risk and support victims in accessing the help and advice they need. Through a combination of engagement, intelligence gathering, prevention and enforcement activity, we remain committed to improving safety, increasing confidence and helping ensure that women and girls feel safe in the places where they live, work and visit.
